James McCarthy is a Nashville-based drummer, originally from Boston, MA.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Jazz Performance, James began his professional career as the touring drummer for Rock & Roll, Vocal, and Grammy Hall of Fame inductees The Platters. He has since performed with fellow Hall of Fame groups The Drifters and The Coasters, and has opened for a wide range of nationally recognized artists including Willie Nelson, Zac Brown Band, Bonnie Raitt, Jon Pardi, Brothers Osborne, Jo Dee Messina, Lainey Wilson, Alison Krauss, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Warren Zeiders, Lonestar, Darryl Worley, Phil Vassar, and LOCASH.
